ARCHON CERAKOTE Needle Bearing Olympic Bar with Bushings

Stop over-paying for just a name and instead experience the affordable, but superior performance of the ARCHON Fitness line of Olympic Bars, starting with The ARCHON CERAKOTE Needle Bearing Olympic Bar with Bushings. This barbell provides the ultimate in performance that you are looking for when performing Olympic and Cross Functional Box Gyms movements, such as The Clean and Jerk, The Push Press, The Front Squat, The Overhead Squat, The Snatch Deadlift, and much more. Our 4 premium needle bearings, combined with 2 bronze bushings, provide a smooth unrestricted spin, especially when heavily loaded. “Experience the whip!” This ARCHON 20kg barbell (45lb) has both Olympic and Powerlifting knurl marks to go along with a stylish black oxide finish. Our knurling has a medium non-abrasive texture but holds chalk GREAT! In addition, there is no center knurling. By having bushings, combined with performance ball bearings, you will produce a smooth controlled whip.

“What is CERAKOTE finish?” Great question!

A CERAKOTE finished barbell provides a protective polymer-ceramic finish giving your Olympic bar superior strength and durability against corrosion and scratching. CERAKOTE coating offers 100 x more corrosion resistance than standard black zinc. Originally CERAKOTE was used on weapons to protect in marine environments, sweating or hot and dusty environments. Keep in mind, metal-to-metal contact will cause barbells to wear overtime, so be sure to maintain your barbells regardless of the coating.

“Why are Needle Bearings superior?” To get your WHIP on!

Rather than a ball bearing, needle bearings are exactly how they sound. They are substantially larger, stronger, and faster, producing a great whip. Needle bearings have a larger contact surface area when the bar is under impact. This will elongate the life of your bar/bearings compared to ball bearings. (On a ball bearing the ball has one point of contact, the very tip of the ball. While on a needle bearing there is a whole line, the length of the needle, that is under contact.) The combination of our bushings with our needle bearings creates a smoother rotation when performing your Olympic movements.

First of all, I’m the type that went through six bikes and five kayaks until I found what I wanted. And with that I found that higher cost does not correlate with higher quality. So now that I’m working out at home I wanted a better bar. I was nervous though about getting one because how do you know till you try it out? Out of about 50 at the gym there was one or two that always seemed better. I didn’t really notice a big difference with a bar except when it came to cleans and deadlifts. Especially for the grip with dead lift, for both gripping and for not turning in your hand. This bar is exactly what I wanted. The knurling is just right; the weights can shift and don’t pull on your hand. This bar felt smaller in my hand to grip, which felt better. I measured it at 29.4. I was curious so I went back and measured and the other bars all measured bigger. Order it and wait for it

This is a "stunning" bar that will last for years in what I consider to be a commercial-grade garage gym we share with a couple long-time lifting buddies. When COVID-19 hit we went to training separation and CDC cleaning protocol . From nine months of frequent bar cleaning post-workout (1-4 times a day between us all) .. is rust sets in. Commercial gyms (now open again) will start finding this out.
The quality of the bar and smooth movement of is clearly most impressive but, just as important , is the unique Cerakote (military application) protective finish! It's worth its weight in gold with only a minor price up-tick. Archon is on to something!
Oh, as for the packaging with us also owning the Archon multi-grip bar, its over-the-top! A+ on both products and your company – impressive additions to our facility!

Received my barbell a few weeks ago, but wanted to put it through some workouts before writing a review. With that being said this barbell is awesome. Absolute steal for the price, and it is still a great deal after shipping costs. This is my first cerakote barbell and it feels amazing. Excellent whip coming from the needle bearings. Trust me, I sell bearings and needle bearings are the way to go!! Knurling feels awesome, not too light but also not jagged like some of the barbells are commercial gyms. Now I will say that I don’t have a whole lot of weight plates at home just yet so the most I’ve put on this barbell is 225 lbs which it handles perfectly fine to no surprise. Feels great for cleans, squats, presses and pulls. Came in excellent packaging inside of a sturdy tube with metal end caps that were screwed and wired on. Barbell comes with a bit of a grease coating on the ends which just needs to be wiped off unless you don’t mind it which I didn’t. Customer service was absolutely great and shipping through ups was on time and easy to track. And last but not least the aesthetic of the bar is very pleasing.

Ordered the bar five days ago and received it today. Came in stuff cardboard tube with secured end caps and was wrapped in plastic within.

Most bars I’ve reviewed have come very oily from the factory, but this was not the case with this bar. That does not mean by any standard that it was shipped or stored poorly, and it is in pristine condition.

The cerakote finish is beautiful, and the loadable ends spin more freely than any other more expensive name brand bar I’ve encountered.
There are details to this bar that aren’t easily identified in the pictures, including a subdued area on each end with the archon logo, which just looks amazing, and the knurling is perfect.

I’m a function-over-styling guy but have to say this bar appealed to me for several reasons:

    1) appears to be durable, and has excellent specs as far as spin, max load and durability

    2) styling that’s reminiscent of artistic pieces (i.e. Apple products versus competitors)

    3) lifetime warranty for material defects

I am PROUD to own this bar and look forward to many years of use!

  • Q

Does the barbell have center knurling?

    A

No, it does not. Only knurling in grip areas, both Olympic and Powerlifting.

Archon Warranty

The ARCHON Lifetime Warranty protects your barbell from material defects and construction. This warranty does not cover the product if the bar is damaged do to neglect, misuse, has been altered, poor storage environments, or mishandled the warranty is voided. The ARCHON warranty does not cover abusive dropping of the bar. (This includes metal surfaces, benches, dropping with iron plates, on spotter arms, on a box, with 10’s / 15’s by themselves, or similar abuse.) Maintenance is not considered a warranty issue. Warranty is not transferable and original purchase receipt must be provided. Warranty claims are reviewed case by case by the ARCHON engineer. The determination by the engineer is final. You may feel confident that barbell defects are extremely rare as most problems are a result of neglect or abuse.

Barbell Maintenance

Sweat and damp humid environments can cause corrosion of metal. You may have been to a gym where you see those little orange spots on knurling. For some individuals this is no bother, but for others they like that clean polished look to last. This can be accomplished through the following method:

Step – 1
Gather a NYLON Stiff Bristled Brush and 3-in-ONE Brand Multipurpose Oil.

Step – 2
Using your nylon brush, brush away excess chalk and grime.

Step – 3
Take your oil and coat your barbell. Next take your brush and work in the oil into the knurling.

ARCHON barbells are protected by the top coatings in the industry. Rather than the cheaper oxide coatings, “ARCHON only uses BLACK ZINC and CERAKOTE as we want you to enjoy a quality barbell for years to come.”
